Pledge to the Black Flag
Eyes raised, spirit renewed, and palm across my heart
I make this pledge to both your whole and parts
To honor the RED, the BLACK, and the GREEN
To respect and revere what they each mean
To invoke ancestral stories of struggle as my inspiration
And pledge my God-given talents to promote a better nation
To remember the rivers of RED blood my kinsmen shed
So my journey through life might be less challenging ahead
To give thanks for the millions of scarred, ancestral backs
Whose living legacy makes me proud to be BLACK
To cherish GREEN, the symbol of an emerging, new spirit
Where my soul cries out so that all can feel, see and hear it
To the brilliant horizon, I sing, and the rising and setting sun
Faithful beacons of evidence that a new world has begun
To constant hope I will one day live among total peace and good
Where fellowmen gladly grip my hand in universal brotherhood
Eyes raised, soul lifted, and palm across my heart
Black flag, I pledge this to your whole and symbolic parts
All praise to the Heavenly Father's Divine Wisdom and Thought
For inspiring your creation and lessons you have taught
