Dear Church family,

Due to the executive order of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker on March 20, 2020, we as a church must suspend our church activities immediately, through May 30th.   The executive order is for residents to “Shelter in Place,” or to “Stay at Home.”

It is with that understanding that we do our best for the safety of our church family and community; abiding by the decision made by Governor Pritzker.

Our faith makes us look at and understand what we believe.  In the Baptist Church, we have as a guide, in addition to the Bible, the Articles of Faith.  Article #16 reads:  We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society; that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed; except in those things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ Who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming King of kings (Rom. 13:1-7; 2 Sam. 23:3; Exod.18:21, 22; Acts 23:5; Matt. 22:21; Acts 5:29; 4:19, 20; Dan. 3:17, 18).

Again, as per the directive of our governor, we will suspend our church activities immediately; now through May 29, 2020.

We will use our Facebook site, our church website, and other forms of communication, to keep you informed on the latest information.

Keep the faith!
