Dear Saints of God,
We had a glorious time last week, as we celebrated Women’s Day. The entire worship experience was great, and all who participated, did a wonderful job. God is praised for Rev. Dr. Stephanie B. Crowder, who challenged us to “See the woman.” What a powerful message. Here are some photos.
I thank God for blessing those of you who came out during the week to share in our annual Vacation Bible School. Again, we were blessed to share in this ministry with the Arnett A.M.E. Chapel. Thank you for the efforts made to be a part of VBS. I thank Sister Linda Broadnax in her leadership for this year’s study. In addition, I thank the teachers from Beth Eden, and the parishioners who attended. Thank you, Linda Broadnax, for your leadership for VBS. Here are some photos.
The primary elections have ended. Voting choices were made for the upcoming elections in November. The stakes are still high, and registering to vote, and voting is important! Many decisions will be made in the coming months. Voting in the primaries was just the first step. November is several months away. Make sure that you are aware of the issues at hand, so you can use the power that you have, to have representation that will benefit you and your community.
Along those lines, let us celebrate and thank God for the newest Supreme Court justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman to serve in this position. It took 233 years, and 115th justices to get to this point in America’s history. Though she would be a minority in the court, 6 Republicans and 3 Democrats, I believe that her voice will be heard in such a way that she will have a significant impact in making our country better. Pray for her.
July 3rd is the first Sunday of July. We will share in Holy Communion. Please be present in worship to participate in this significant meal, as we remember the life, death, burial, and resurrection from the dead of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
PUT ON A SMILE!
The Fourth of July weekend was approaching, and Miss Kaitlyn, the nursery schoolteacher, took the opportunity to tell her class about patriotism. "We live in a great country," she announced. "One of the things we should be happy about is that, in this country, we are all free." Trevor, who was a little boy in her class, came walking up to her from the back of the room. He stood with his hands on his hips and said loudly, "I'm not free. I'm four."
Love, ya,
Pastor Jenkins
