Dear Saints of God,

God is praised for blessing each of us to witness another day of life. Truly, it is by the mercies and grace of God that we are able to experience this day.

As we gradually reenter the sanctuary, and resume in-person activities, I am glad that our Seniors on the Go were able to celebrate their anniversary on last Monday. Thank you, President Loretta Hall, for your leadership in bringing our seniors back together to enjoy the fellowship once again.

On Saturday, you are invited to support annual Brotherhood Pancake Breakfast. Come out and be a part of a joyous fellowship, enjoying a good breakfast together. I thank the president of the Brotherhood Greg Rush for his leadership with the fine Christian brothers of Beth Eden.

Also during the month of May, we acknowledge the Health League Ministry of the church. I am grateful for their service during the time of pandemic. Thank you for the effort in making sure that our congregation followed (and follow) the precautions for our safety. Congratulations to the Health League. Thank you, President Debra Airhart.

For a mid-week spiritual fill up, here at the church we have a special service called W.O.W., which is an acronym for Worship on Wednesdays. This noon day service provides an opportunity not just for our congregation, but for our community, to worship together. If you cannot be in person, tune in either by YouTube or Facebook. We want to be a blessing for you and provide mid-week spiritual energy. The time is 12 Noon – 1p.m. Spread the word!

In addition, Bible Study continues on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Please take advantage of these worship opportunities mid-week. Enjoy the Lord in worship and service.

Again, I must emphasize that you wear masks, practice social distancing, and the washing of your hands. We are not out of this pandemic. Let us do our part in taking care of ourselves, by protecting ourselves and others.

One day, Joe, Bob and Dave were hiking in a wilderness area when they came upon a large, raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side but had no idea of how to do so.

Joe prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river."

Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, although he almost drowned a couple of times.

Seeing this, Dave prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools to cross this river."

Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times.

Bob had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools, and the intelligence, to cross this river."

Poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.

Love, ya,

Dear Saints of God,

I thank God! I thank you! These words express my gratitude for the wonderful celebration and recognition of my 36th year as your Pastor. God is praised for blessing me with the spiritual strength, the physical strength, and a determination to serve the Lord to the best of my abilities. I praise God for you, the congregation of Beth Eden for allowing me to be a part of your lives. Your graciousness has allowed me to share in your homes, and with your families, and because of that, we have found strength and love that God has given us to be brothers and sisters in Christ. I am forever grateful. I also thank the entire church for gifts, many cards and expressions of love shown to me for my anniversary. All I can is to God be the glory!

In looking ahead, I am excited for what the Lord has in store for us. With hopes and prayers of coming out of this pandemic, I pray that we will be able to bring forth again ministries that are important in the life of the church. In order to make this happen, we must continue to be diligent in our safety precautions with the masks, social distancing, and washing hands. We as leaders in the church are to be dutiful in providing direction in leading this congregation through the challenges of the omicron variants. So, please pray for the church and the leadership of the church.

On Sunday, we will observe Mother’s Day. Whether biological, adoptive, aunt, sister, brother, neighbor, or friend, God has placed in our lives a person or persons who have filled the role of mother for us. Let us extend our gratitude for those individuals, who have played such a significant role in our lives. Though there are some, whom you may feel have not fulfilled that role, I remind you that our God is a mother for the motherless. And because of that, you are here.
If your schedule is free on Wednesdays, you are invited to share with us in person for our Worship on Wednesday. This worship service W.O.W., has the focus of providing a time of worship during the mid-week. This noon day service provides an opportunity not just for our congregation, but for our community, to worship together. If you cannot be in person, tune in either by YouTube or Facebook. We want to be a blessing for you and provide a mid-week spiritual fill up. The time is 12 Noon – 1p.m. In addition, Bible Study will continue on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Please take advantage of these worship opportunities mid-week. Enjoy the Lord in worship and service.

I am so glad that our Seniors on the Go, will be able to reconvene on Monday May 8th. This will be their first-time meeting together since the beginning of the pandemic.
